Call (262) 829-5961Mon to Fri, 7am to 5pmThe owner of the New Berlin Softener Co. name
New Berlin Softener Co. is a trade name owned by ZeroGrain Water LLC, a company formed in Wisconsin.
Under this name we answer quote calls, size each system, supply it and schedule the plumbing contractor. A licensed Wisconsin plumbing contractor carries out every installation, because Wis. Stat. ch. 145 treats a softener’s drain connection as plumbing.
No visits to sell, one price on the phone
Prices are given on the phone from 7am to 5pm on weekdays. Nobody from the company comes to a New Berlin house to sell a softener, before the call or after it.
The system is one package: a whole-home softener with its brine tank, plus a reverse-osmosis drinking tap at the kitchen sink that is never sold alone. A hardness test opens the work, and retests at the tap close it once the tap reads zero.
Why a softener company repeats the utility’s advice
The New Berlin Water Utility tells its city customers they should no longer need a softener, and this site says so on nearly every page. Lake water at about 8 grains makes a weaker case for softening than the groundwater the city left behind in 2009, and pretending otherwise would make everything else here harder to trust.
So the houses this site is really for are the ones on private wells, still drawing groundwater the utility put at 18 to 32 grains, along with any city customer who wants a straight answer. The same line also covers Muskego, Brookfield, Elm Grove and West Allis.
Common questions
